Do I need to buy a HID projector along with a HID kit?

Q. I have a Subaru Legacy GT that already seems to have a projector built into the stock headlights but I am not sure if the brighter HID lights would be compatible with it. I am only getting these because regular halogen lights are horribly dim. At night I can only see about 10 ft in front of me.

You don't need projectors, I think that your car probably has stock projectors which will be fine... Just make sure you get the correct bulb fitment/size for your car. You don't need to buy other projectors, even if you don't have projectors you will be ok.

HID with Projector headlights?

Q. I understand that HID are a great choice for better lighting, as well are projector headlights.

Would I gain any benefit from putting an HID bulb system in a projection headlight casing?

Is this possible? Should I go with one or the other? Will one affect the other in a positive or negative way?

Yes, HID bulbs do work in most projector light fittings - you can get a Xenon HID conversion kit for most cars.

The main advantages are around 300% more light output than standard halogen bulbs. The bulbs also give a whiter light than standard, which can reduce eye strain.
