PS3 to Projector help??!!?

Jason S

Hello, I am buying an Infocus LP350 DLP projector which supposedly supports HDTV 1080i. Although it is an older projector and uses an M1-DA port.

My question is, how do I connect this to my PS3 (80gb) to get 1080i?
Will an M1-DA to HDMI adapter work or will I need to get something else?

(This projector is NOT HDCP-compatible but I've heard that you don't need this compatibility to use the PS3).

I do have a single component cable for video, but I really want to do it in high def, so I probably won't use this component plug.

Thanks in advance!

Answer
1) The LP350 is HD-'compatible': Which means it can accept a HD video input signal (1080i), even though the LP350 native resolution is much lower (768i). A true HD projector has a native resolution 1920x1080

In other words, the projector does not reproduce 1080i; it projects a portion of the HD signal. It doesn't chop up the picture, but it certainly isn't HD quality

2) LP350 is essentially a business projector - for slides, etc. It is 4:3 native, 500:1 contrast, accepts VGA or S-Video... http://www.infocus.com/Support/Products/Projectors/LP350.aspx
...fairly weak to use for HD viewing compared to another inFocus lke this: http://www.infocus.com/Products/Projectors/IN82.aspx

Look at the specs; use it as a shopping guide, if you're open to other brands
If your goal is to get HD quality video on your screen, please research projectors that offer a native resolution of 1080i @ 16:9, HDMI inputs, or component video inputs at the least

Will 3d projectors support ps3 3d games when the update is released?

Will 3d projectors support ps3 3d games when the update is released? Also has anyone currently got a 3d projector & how worth while would it be to get one considering the upcoming rise of 3d games & films?

Answer
yes and to give the perfect example go to the link i provided below and click on FAQ. The PJD6531w is 3d ready projector that i plan on purchasing and i've been researching my 3D possibilities for about 6 months now. A lot of people are completely unaware there are a wide range of different 3D options on the market today such as Nvidia 3d vision, Iz3D, 3D ready monitors and projectors. Practically all you have to do is get XpanD's x102 or x103 universal glasses which are 3D DLP ready which means they are compatible with any 3D ready DLP tv or projector, turn the 3d option on your projector, make sure you have the 3d activated in the game menu and on ps3 output settings also. that's it. I've included more links to make sure you get all the info you may need.
