Looking for a projector?

jay t

I am a college student and am looking to get a projector for my room. The room is about ten feet wide and what we would use it for is to hook it up to a laptop to watch movies and to run cable to it. What would you suggest I get that is reasonably priced?

Answer
Hi,
I think with projectors if you can spend a bit more $ you tend to get a few more features. I like the FAVI mini projector myself, it's around $200 and the reviews are generally positive on Amazon. Actually the best way to find the 'right" projector is perhaps to go to Amazon and search for laptop projectors - and read the reviews. Find out what people are saying, for example, does it run quiet, stay cool or overheat, plugin to your laptop or iPad, project well even with some light in the room, etc.

Hope that helps. I reviewed 3 laptop projectors in the link below if that helps. Thanks...

Looking to buy a projector for outside use?

Cris

Hi I want to buy a projector for watching movies at night in my back yard. basically I need a projector that can give me a clear and large display. I'm also on a low budget so the cheaper the better. does anyone have suggestions?

Answer
BenQ Joybee LED projector £300-400. No cheap projector will give you a big, clear image but the Joybee is as good as some non-led models. Mine works best with a matt, slightly off-white wall or screen, a brilliant white screen reflects too much and the colours look a bit washed out. You will also need a speaker system, Joybee has on onboard speaker but it's very small and quiet.
