I have been looking a lot at the optoma hd65 i know its not native 1080p though. but its on sale for $580. Otherwise the new optoma hd20 which is native 1080p and the bulb is $80 less than the hd65 series. Do you know of any other projectors that you could throw our their for me to look at. With a good bulb price, under a 1000, and has to have the ability to do 1080p. I would prefer native otherwise native 720p is ok with a max resolution of 1080.
I am really struggling on a decision to make here. I have researching so many hours. Any insight, or advice?
I think I am going to go with the Vivitek H1080. It has a better contrast, higher uniformity and seems to be overall better than the optoma for the same price.

The only one 1080p projector that is under a $1,000 that I found is Vivitek 1800 Lumen 1080p Home Theater Projector but this item is not release now or if you can pay more than $1000 then Optoma HD20 is a good choice

Going to buy a projector. Which is the best for under $1,000?

I am really looking into one to use for TV and video games. So when purchasing, what specs are important to look at? Any recommendations as to what you like?
Answer
For $1000 bucks you can do quite well with a 720p HD pj. Just make sure the native resolution is at least 1024 X 768 and then get the highest Lumen and Contrast available in that native resolution.
Epson, BenQ and Optoma are my favorites and you can find plenty of great deals at www.tigerdirect.com
