what are non-xenon projectors and xenon projectors?

B

whats the difference?

Answer
xenon is the type of gas used to fill the bulb(inert gas)
it allows for a whiter brighter light than all other bulbs
non-xenon projecters give you the look without the price nor the quality light of true xenon projectors.

Someone please explain headlights to me? Bi-Xenon, projector, Halos, etc.?

I'm hoping to build my own headlights over the summer. I kind looked into it now and there's so much info out there i don't understand. My goal is to build some projector headlights with halos. But every time I look up tutorials they always talk about all this stuff i don't understand. What kind of projectors are there and how exactly do would I wire some halos in so i could turn em on/off via a switch? Also what should I do to my housing to make it appropriate for halo/projectors. Or if you could just provide a link to a website that explains all this stuff that works too. Thanks.
Also when is a glass lens necessary for headlights? Is it that projectors get really hot and the glass is necessary so it won't melt like plastic?

Answer
projector is what holds the bulbs and makes the actual beam to see at night

bi-xenon is projector type that has a high beam and low beam functionality. a shield inside the projector moves up and down and allow more light, thus creating a high beam

halos are either LED of cfl or halogen ring that goes around a projector and is only for looks.

i dont know anything about halos.

go to the retrofit source to purchase projector, halo and HID kits. they are the best in the business.
