Answer
I have the Epson 8350 Home Cinema, meets all your requirements except for price. You may have a hard time finding a 1080p projector for that price that has a decent number of lumens. I would stay above 2000.

Epson 8350. Thoughts? Suggestions?
"Bill"
Looking at using this as my main TV in the basement. Primarily used for movies and sports. The only negative I've seen is sports motion that isn't totally smooth. Is this bad enough to avoid this model?
Other questions:
Where would be the cheapest place to buy this?
Do any carriers offer a replacement bulb included in the price?
Screen or painted wall?
Answer
Hi Bill, I have the 8100 and it's a fantastic projector (esp for the price). The motion on mine is plenty smooth and there's nothing like an 8' screen. I would highly recommend a screen but you don't have to spend a fortune on one. Mine is an Elite Screen motorized 100" and I paid under $250 with shipping. Not sure about a free bulb but I would look at Projectorpeople.com or visualapex.com. You can also buy direct from Epson. The cheapest price may not be the best way to go, make sure it's a reputable dealer (I only buy from authorized dealers and I check manufacturers websites to be certain). The main problem you may have with any projector is light in the room. Make sure you have heavy curtains if your basement is a walkout and has windows.
