I want a projector under $600 or around there. And I was hoping to get high definition for that price. 720p would be nice. And also, I plan to have it hang from my ceiling, so how would I go about hooking my Xbox 360's video cables to it? And I also have surround sound. So i will just plug sound straight into my central amp. But don't know how to extend the xbox's HD wires. If you can answer all that would be amazing.

Using a projector for playing games is not the best. You need a darker room and if you want 1080P projector there is none for the price you are looking for. Projector bulbs only last 2,000 hours and you will also need a projector screen which cost a minimum of $150, the replacement bulbs can cost you a minimum of $200 and up. I purchased a Panasonic 1080P projector for my home theater for $3,500 and this is only use for blu ray disc movies. You are better off buying an LCD tv that will last 60,000 to 100,000 hours and they are much brighter than the projector. Hope this will help you out.

projector for xbox 360?

I am looking to purchase a projector for my xbox 360 and blu-ray player. I Have a pretty open area, and have a budget of $700. I am not looking for 3D compatible, only good picture quality and a good size projection.
Any suggestions on what to buy?

well for under 700 $ you are going to have to buy a 720p projector, 1080p cost about 900+ unless you find one used.
if you see 720p advertised, make sure you look for the actual screen resolution, most everyone will advertise 720p - 1080p, but they actually are only 800-600, that is very bad.... dont get anything below 1500 lumens. most bulbs are 4000-6000 hours, thats about 3-4 years for the average gamer. and with a 720p projector, you wont want a screen bigger than 70" or you will see big aliasing problems, but if it doesnt bother you, it can get bigger no problem depending on how bright you get.
