Projector and screen for affordable home cinema?

I'm looking for a simple wall-mounted pull-down projector screen like those in many classrooms so I can watch movies on it. Where can I find that at a cheap price and what's the most economical projector that I can hook up to a dvd player/computer? I'm really just looking for something simple to put in my room, nothing fancy and expensive, please. I am completely clueless about this so the more detail, the better. Thank you!

Oh yea there is also a paint you can buy and paint a screen on a while. This is done in a lot of home theaters.

Portable speakers for Projector ?

I'm buying a projector (ViewSonic PJD5123) for my husbands birthday. I would like to find some compatible speakers that would work with it. I need portable ones that we could use outside. Mostly for UFC fights in the backyard or movies. Would also take them camping at the lake. Affordable and they don't have to be top of the line, but decent. I'm clueless about electronics. Please help! Thanks!!

Keep in mind that a projector is designed to project a big picture and has no tv tuner for you to watch tv program. You can connect a DVD or blu ray disc player or a computer to it. It also does not support any audio. You are going to need a sound system for the sound. You can get a sound bar and connect your computer, dvd or blu ray disc player to it for the sound. Good home theater projector.?

My Optoma DLP EZ735 just crapped out (color wheel). I loved it. I was able to return it and now have $1300 looking for the next awesome home projector. The Optoma was 720p with HDMI inputs.

Requirements
At least as good as the Optoma 735
720p (Would love 1080p)
HDMI or DVI inputs
HDCP compliant
I use it mainly for iTunes downloads, DVDs, and XBox
I could spend 3-400 more than the $1300.
OH ... and I want to be able to get a 5 year extended full warranty

See the recommended 720p models at the bottom of the page at the link. Reviews of all these (and more) projectors are also on this site. For more money you might want to stretch to the Sanyo Z700. The 2nd link is to another good review site.

I don't know about a 5 year warranty ... 3 is more normal. Besides technology changes so quickly you will probably trade the projector for a new model in 3-4 years maximum.

Every projector is different, so read specs and reviews carefully to find one that fits your needs best.

getting my laptop warranty at costco?

Q. For COMPUTERS, TELEVISIONS and PROJECTORS, Costco extends the MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY to two years from date of purchase.

i bought a laptop from there a little over a year ago. my battery needs to be replaced. do i need to bring in my laptop? or just the battery? will they replace the battery? how does it all work?

Batteries are only warrantied for 1 year and is not covered by any warranty extensions. This is true of ALL manufacturers -- because batteries are just like any batteries -- they're probably gonna die in about a year. You'll have to buy a new one.
