Projector and screen for affordable home cinema?

Phoebe R.

I'm looking for a simple wall-mounted pull-down projector screen like those in many classrooms so I can watch movies on it. Where can I find that at a cheap price and what's the most economical projector that I can hook up to a dvd player/computer? I'm really just looking for something simple to put in my room, nothing fancy and expensive, please. I am completely clueless about this so the more detail, the better. Thank you!

Answer
go to this website

http://www.projectorpeople.com

you will be asked questions and they will point the best screen you will need. That way I don't have to go into gain the type of projector you have. The darkness of the room. This will all go into looking for a screen. So visit that site then email me if you have any other question. Hope it helps.

Oh yea there is also a paint you can buy and paint a screen on a while. This is done in a lot of home theaters.

Portable speakers for Projector ?

Dondrea L

I'm buying a projector (ViewSonic PJD5123) for my husbands birthday. I would like to find some compatible speakers that would work with it. I need portable ones that we could use outside. Mostly for UFC fights in the backyard or movies. Would also take them camping at the lake. Affordable and they don't have to be top of the line, but decent. I'm clueless about electronics. Please help! Thanks!!

Answer
Keep in mind that a projector is designed to project a big picture and has no tv tuner for you to watch tv program. You can connect a DVD or blu ray disc player or a computer to it. It also does not support any audio. You are going to need a sound system for the sound. You can get a sound bar and connect your computer, dvd or blu ray disc player to it for the sound. Hope this will help you out.

Affordable multimedia projector? (<$500)?

surveyslop

So I want to watch movies on a large screen without spending too much.

I already own two 22" monitors, but it's just not quite big enough.

Also, I will be ONLY watching movies on this.

Answer
Under 500, won't get you much PJ at that price for sure. I would suggest you look at the Mitsubishi HC1500 or 1600. These are 720p projectors, that offer a great picture, for what they go for. Consider that you get what you pay for when buying any projector. I suggest you check out TigerDirect or Amazon for HT projectors as you may be able to find an Optoma of Infocus model at a good price as well.

best affordable projector for small room - see details?

Mike Hunt

I need to purchase a projector to mount on my ceiling to project HDTV, Xbox, Blu-ray, Computer, etc. It will only be projecting about a 60" diagonal, so not to far away. Can someone help me find an affordable projector (less than $500) or at least tell me what resolution and type would suit my needs. I do not need perfect high definition, but I still want it to look high-def when projecting blu-ray, xbox, and HDTV.

Thanks!

Answer
For something less than $500 you can still get a high quality projector, their pretty cheap now thanks to plasma, LCD and LED TV's. You should defiantly take a look on eBay or online somewhere.
