Hi, i have a question what projector should I use for church? its a well lighted building inside. but i was really looking to be around $500 range if possible, less.
I mostly use projector for displaying text. sometimes might show a video or pictures.
I really want something that is good in bright rooms.
any suggestions?

I dont have any sun light coming in all light is from lamps or what ever.
Also I'd like it if projector had an ethernet port, so I could have it hooked up to a network
and finally, I need 3 projectors. so probably a switcher that will work with them. Thanks

which is a good projector for a room?

i wanna get a projector for my room and i want to know which is best to get. i wanna get something for first time users and as a tv. since i dont know much about these things, i wanna get something so i can hook up my satellite receiver and a DVD/blu ray/etc. player. and maybe also so i can plug in my laptop to watch it in the projector screen. i also wanted to ask, if there are different sizes of the projector screens like the picture size(i cant explain this very well and i think i may confuse you). you know how in the plasma/flat screen tv's, you get it in a size like for example 36 inch tv, etc? well i want to ask, is there anything like that for projectors? cause i know the prices depend on sizes, isnt it? if there is something like that, i want a projector that shows its picture not so wide since its for my room. two other quick things, you think i can still get a projector in my room if i have a fan in the ceiling, and if i have an almost white color wall, will i still might have to buy a projector screen (if so, any cheap ones that roll up)?

Projectors have one big advantage over a flatscreen TV: a BIG picture. The size is determined by the distance the projector is from the wall/screen and the 'zoom' setting of the lens. Typical sizes are 80"-100" but can be larger or smaller with the same projector.

You don't need a special screen, although a white wall won't give as good a picture as one with special paint or a proper screen. You can paint or build your own for about $100.
Note that the big disadvantages of projectors are that they work best in a dim/dark room and lamps wear out and need to be replaced about every 3000 hrs of use. Typically this means every 2-3 years. Cost varies but is usually $250 or more.
There are many projectors starting at about $400 and going into the $10,000+ range. Price is more or less related to image quality, although even a sub $1000 projector can give a bright, sharp image for movies or TV. I suggest reading about projectors before even considering buying. There are pros and cons to each model so you need to decide your preferences/needs.
Since a projector is the equivalent of a computer monitor (it displays an image only) you can use it to display video from game consoles, satellite or cable receivers and DVD/Blu-ray players, BUT you need an audio receiver/amp and speakers to provide audio.
