Im in Tallahassee, Florida at work, and I'm working on some orders, I'm excited about my company christmas party because i have this gorgeous black dress i can't wait to show off! I was the talk of the party last year so I can't wait! hopefully you all are having good days...

oh yeah I'm a senior in college and I forgot to mention that this was my last week of school and finals are DONE! so that is another thing to be excited about but good luck to the ones that have to study... and don't procrastinate! (I know too late for that!)

I'm at home, near Paris, France. I'm a teacher in primary school. Here it's 10 PM and I think i'm gonna watch a movie on my home-cinema projector. Comedy or fantastic ? I haven't made my choice...

Tech guy question??????????/?

I want hook up my conference room with a monitor for presentations and video. However, I want to allow wireless powerpoint presentations for vendors. Is there a usb device or other connection that will allow the vendor wirelessly give his presentation on the led monitor I install? Without having to install software? I don't want a long vga or hdmi cord all along the floor.

Jimmy - I like the wireless device in the other answer but keep in mind that may not be 100% reliable in all circumstances with any laptop. You really need to wire a standard VGA cable to the projector as a backup too. A VGA cable will work when the other device fails. An AV installer can do it in a way so that the cable is not "all along the floor". The normal way is to install a VGA connection to the projector in the center of the conference table using a recessed connector box:

There really isn't enough room here in Yahoo answers to explain everything that powerpoint does and is for. You'd really need a book for those details.

In short, Powerpoint is software that was created for presentations. It's used all over industry from the smallest company up to the Government and Universities. It allows the user to provide briefings in a slide type of format (which gets its name from the now defunct slide projector). In conference rooms with an overhead camera, the powerpoint presentation can be used to show an audience of thousands of attendees. This elminates the high usage of paper handouts.

Because of its ability to provide various kinds of movement (such as animations or graphic transitions) it can provide the briefer the ability to create a powerpoint presentation.

Interestingly enough, Microsoft is not the original creator of Powerpoint....Microsoft purchased the software from someone else and has modified it over the last 20yrs along with the rest of its office suites.

The current version of Powerpoint (2007) is the most powerfull, and best, of all versions to date.

Of the current crop of ALL high definition projectors the Sony VPL-VW50 âPearlâ SXRD, the Panasonic PT-AE1000U, and the Mitsubishi HC5000 home theater projectors are arguably three of the best buys at the present time, selling for discounted prices of approximately $4300, $4000 and $4500 respectively. Even at the MSRP of $6300 the JVC DLA-RS1 or DLA-HD1 D-ILA Home Theater Projectors are a bargain for the level of performance they provide.

Projectors and apartments are a fairly unusual combination due to a variety of viewing room constraints associated with apartments. Nevertheless the best choice, especially for apartment use, will be a âFull-HDâ, native1080p projector with the goal of viewing as much source material as possible in the form of 1080p video; 720p being the next best choice. If you'll be viewing a lot of 480-line video source material (DVD-Video, SDTV, etc.,) you will need to make sure you're using equipment that can effectively upscale 480-line video source material to not less than the native resolution of your projector, preferably 720 pixels or greater.

You will also need to take into consideration the cost of purchasing a quality projection screen from a company such as Stewart Filmscreen, Da-Lite, Draper, or DNP. For an apartment I would recommend a (16:9) screen no larger than 82-inches (diag.) with a gain no higher than 1.3; if you feel you need a screen with more gain then there may be too much ambient light and you would be better off choosing an alternative to a front projector. Of all the current display technologies front projectors are the most demanding of the viewing environment.

Last but not least you will also need to consider the proper viewing distance(s) for the type of source material you will be viewing. (For more info on proper viewing distances please read my replies from the Yahoo! Answers links below.) If you sit too close you will be constantly distracted by visible picture structure such as individual scan lines or pixels in the video image. Generally the higher the resolution the closer you will be able to sit to the screen before picture structure will become a serious problem.

Contav conference room table where are they located?

I am looking for a conference room table where the projector, pc connectors, speakers etc... is all integrated inside the table. Here on yahoo answer someone suggested a company called Contav, however I do not know where this Contav is located. Have anyone heard this name before? and perhaps you know where they are? I am overseas.
