projector tv into an interactive arcade experience?

I'm going to get a projector tv so that I can have a 6 foot screen. I'm also really looking forward to hooking it up with the wii and playing the shooters that are coming out with their zapper gun like resident evil and sega's ghost squad. My question is, are there any other interactive console's or hookups that would work well? I saw a console similar to wii a few years back for sports gaming? I'm hoping to turn my living room into a fun arcade experience. A good golf simulator game would be awesome too. Any help or advice would be great, thank you.
I have a 360, I'm just looking for a less hardcore gaming experience. something that your average person can pick up and start having fun with. I like the wii for that purpose, I don't think it's in the same league as sony or microsoft

wow...the projector idea is pretty cool (just make sure you don't loose out too much on graphics)

as for gaming and ultimate arcading, i like the wii overall (of couse i got my personal grudge against that xbox...)

and that sports simulation thingy you are talking about is mostly a waist of time. don't buy that.

Good affordable golf simulators?

I am considering getting an affordable golf simulator, but It seems like there's a lot to choose from and I can't find prices. Does anybody know of good golf simulators that are affordable? I would prefer to be hitting the "screen", but that probably increases the price.

It depends on what you consider "affordable". The Optishot is about $500, but I've seen good reviews for it. You do hit into a net, though. This is just a spur-of-the-moment thought, since I've never tried it, but I wonder if you could hook your TV or computer up to a projector, to have the images the Optishot projected onto a screen? It would meet both of your requirements...

Anything else will start to run you into the thousands of dollars for just the unit themselves. Trackman, Flightscope, Vector... they're all pretty good, but very expensive. The deals with the screen, projector, etc., run into the tens of thousands.

about lumens projectors?

i heard there really cheap, you can buy a 1000 or 1500 on ebay brand new for under 500, it also says bulbs on it last 6000 hours, and they only cost 50 bucks per bulb, this seems to good to be true, i heard all projector bulbs can only last 1000 hours

There may be some confusion here.

Lumens is a measure of projector brightness. A typical Home theatre projector is rated at 1000-1500 lumens, but this is reduced to 300-500 when adjusted for optimum colour accuracy.

Lamps are typically rated to last 2000-4000 hrs (I don't know of any that claim more) but actual can last much shorter (or, presumably) somewhat longer, depending on how they are treated.

Cost vary from about $200 - $500 .... I've never heard of a normal projector lamp that costs $50.

So, any projector claiming 1000+ lumens brightness and with a 6000 hr lamp life @ $50 to replace is either a significant breakthrough (unlikely), will have horrible colour accuracy, or is a scam.

how can i build an attractive home theater for under $3500?

Hello. I need help coming up with things to get for my home theater. My budget is $3500.
- My preferences include an electric 100"+ screen, and an Optoma projector. I also need a reciever, and a nice sound system.
- In terms of decor, I would like four seats (preferibly leather recliners if possible), attractice lights, and wall decor (maybe acoustic panels?), and I am able to get movie posters. I would like a curtian to go across the screen too.
- If someone could help me come up with a design, product list, it would mean the world to me! I cannot design for my life! Thanks a whole bunch!
- No more than $3500!!!!
