Is there a way to only show certain windows on my computer on the projector?

I pull stuff up on the overhead in church alot, straight off of my computer. For a lot of things, I have to go back and forth. Is there a way to set it up so that only certain windows show up?

Example: I have a lesson outline on powerpoint up, but I want to show a video on the internet to go along with it... Is there a way to jump directly from the powerpoint to the video without everyone seeing what I'm doing?

You can insert a youtube video into your PowerPoint presentation with one of the following 2 methods:

Method A:(Play the PowerPoint offline)
1.Download Youtube video with the free software Leawo Free Video Accelerator (http://www.leawo.com/video-accelerator/ )
2.Then convert the Youtube video to .AVI format with
Leawo Free FLV Converter (http://www.leawo.com/download/flv-converter/flvconverter_free.exe )
3.Insert the avi video into PowerPoint
Step 1: On the Insert tab, point to Movies and Sounds, and then click Movie from File.
Step 2: Click the video you want to use and then click OK.
Step 3: After you click OK, you' are promoted with a message asking how you want the movie to start in the slide show. I recommend you choosing "Automatically "even if you want the movie to play when clicked. And that's done.
Tips:
1. This is the easiest way to insert a video.
2. Only video in formats of AVI, MPEG and WMV can be inserted in this way
3. Always put the movie in the same folder as your PowerPoint presentation.If you later move the PowerPoint presentation to another computer, copy the movie too. Keeping your movie in the same folder as your presentation ensures the link will still work. However, you should always test the movie on a new machine just to be certain. Re-insert the movie, if necessary.

Method B:(Play the PowerPoint online)
You need four steps to make it:
Step 1: Get URL of the video
Step 2: Insert the ActiveX Control Shockwave Flash Object to your PowerPoint
Step 3: Add the the video link to your PowerPoint
Step 4: Fine tune the video in your PowerPoint file

how to run my antique Apollo 8mm projector?

i have an antique apollo projector 1935-late 40's it is an 8mm i have no idea how to run the film i have put it through the wheels and it spins infront of the lens but i couldn't see anything i tried it behind the lens but seemed like ti warped the film (to hot maybe) i have no idea how to work it and it is incredibly hard to find information for online i know excel was a partner with apollo if this helps thanks

I have a few questions about projectors, I am going to get one to put in my room that I want to hook my computer up to to play games on a huge screen, i want to wathc movies on it through my computer, and I want to be able to watch local t.v. chaneels on it somehow. (my budget is I'm trying to keep it under $1000 including projection screen; I already have a sound system so that's not in my budget)

Q1: What projector should I get?
Q2: I get that the amount of lumens means how bright it can get, so what would be a good amount of lumens?
Q3: What would be a good contrast ratio? (I know the higher the better, but what is minimum amount the projector should have?)
Q4: What brand?
Q5: Where should I get it (Newegg, Bestbuy, Tigerdirect?)
Q6: Is a projector worth it instead of a tv? (I have enough space for up to 200 inches, so I thought a projecter would be a good idea, because then I could roll up the screen when I didn't need, and use the space, and it's cheaper than a big t.v.)
Ummmmm.. one thing I forgot is: is there anyway I can hook my projector up to local t.v.? (like bunny ears). I also understand that all t.v. will be digital by february of next year, so could I use a digital box to get local channels to play on my projecter?

Q1: What projector should I get?

You want to make sure that the pj you get has a native resolution of at least 1280 X 720 so you can experience 720p HD. You should be able to find one for less than $800 and I actually just picked up an Optoma HD70 for about $650 after rebate.

Q2: I get that the amount of lumens means how bright it can get, so what would be a good amount of lumens?

Anything between 1000 and 1200 should be good. You get too many Lumens and you risk washing out the picture.

Q3: What would be a good contrast ratio? (I know the higher the better, but what is minimum amount the projector should have?)

I'd look for at least 2000:1

Q4: What brand?

There a gazillion of them but I prefer Infocus, Optoma or Epson and have had good experiences with all of them.

Q5: Where should I get it (Newegg, Bestbuy, Tigerdirect?)

For gods sake not Best Buy. Personally I have bought a few from Tigerdirect, but before I do I will do a search for the specific item on Yahoo Shopping so I can compare all of the online prices.


Q6: Is a projector worth it instead of a tv?

Absolutely! Watching HD on the big screen will BLOW YOU AWAY! I have been slowly replacing ALL my TV's with projection

Q. im looking for ones that are like 720p and are great for like xbox360/PS3 gaming with high brightness and sharp images thnx.

None. Projectors needs a dark room to be effective. the lamps on them are only rated ar 2,000 hours and finding a replacement lamp is limited to the manufacturer. There are no audio connection and you also need a projector screen. You are better off buying a tv, which are mainly rated at 60,000 to 100,000 hours and are much brighter than a projector. Hope this will help you out.
